What are the general principles for selecting a drying device?

The following are general principles for selecting drying equipment. It’s difficult to say which one or which ones are most important; the ideal selection depends on specific conditions, and sometimes a compromise is necessary. Therefore, Changzhou FanQun Drying has listed the following detailed principles:
1. Applicability – The drying equipment must first be suitable for the specific material and meet the basic requirements for material drying, including the ability to handle the material well (feeding, conveying, fluidization, dispersion, heat transfer, discharge, etc.), and meet the basic requirements in terms of processing capacity, dewatering capacity, and product quality.
2. High Drying Rate – In terms of drying rate alone, in convective drying, the material is highly dispersed in the hot air, the critical moisture content is low, and the drying speed is fast. Even with convective drying, different drying methods result in different critical moisture contents and therefore different drying rates.
3. Low Energy Consumption – Different drying methods have different energy consumption indicators. Generally, the theoretical thermal efficiency of conductive drying can reach 99.99%, while convective drying is only about 70%.
4. Cost Savings – For drying equipment that performs the same function, the cost can sometimes vary significantly; the lower-cost option should be chosen.
5. Low Operating Costs – Equipment energy consumption, labor costs, maintenance costs, spare parts costs, etc., should be kept as low as possible.
6. Prioritize drying equipment with a simple structure, sufficient supply of spare parts, high reliability, and a long service life.
7. Meet environmental protection requirements, provide good working conditions, and ensure high safety.
